Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel

The Australian Education Exhibition is being held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel from 25 to 27 February 2009, organised by the Australian Trade Commission and IDP Education. The exhibition involves leading Australian education institutions providing information to prospective students from Bangladesh.

Opening the Exhibition, the Australian High Commissioner, Dr Justin Lee, said, “Australia welcomes students from Bangladesh who can benefit from the excellent international reputation, teaching and research standards at Australian universities and other educational institutions.”

“There are currently almost 6,000 Bangladeshi students in Australia, from a total of 300,000 international students from more than 140 countries spread across the country. Australia offers some 25,000 courses at more than 1,100 institutions.”

“Australian education is high quality and highly competitive when compared to the costs of other overseas student destinations. Moreover, Australia offers a great lifestyle and a safe study environment,” the High Commissioner said.

Reflecting the growing interest among Bangladeshi students and parents, IDP and Austrade organize two of these exhibitions every year so prospective students can meet face-to-face with Australian education staff.
