   CORPORATE SERVICES OFFICER

The Australian High Commission is seeking applications for the position of Corporate Services Officer. The position is available from February 2011 and, after an initial trial period, will be offered a 12 month renewable contract. A competitive salary package is offered including participation in a performance management and bonus scheme

Duties will include:

  • assist with the administration of human resources including recruitment and employee conditions of service

  • administration of human resource database

  • assist with training development and health and safety programs

  • liaise and negotiate with suppliers for office procurement and maintenance agreements.

  • property administration including liaison with landlords and maintenance providers

  • assist with negotiation of property leases and renewals

  • provide relief on consular and passport processing and enquiries

Selection Criteria:

  • Should have at least 5 years relevant work experience and relevant tertiary qualifications

  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to train and guide staff

  • Technical aptitude with information systems and MS Office applications

  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in Bengal and English

  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines

  • Enthusiastic self starter with strong interpersonal and communications skills – demonstrated initiative, adaptability and the ability to work flexibly, both in a small team and individually
